This longhouse typology in North Holland, is a historical farmhouse typology dating back to the 18th century in which the dwelling and the stable are placed linearly one behind the other under a single continuous roof structure. It fits in with the tradition of the ribbon village of Venhuizen. In this case the floorplan consists of a linear structure, with a clear division of four equal spaces; the living room, the entrance, a bedroom with bathroom and the kitchen. The position of the windows amplify the interior structure and the view to the neighbouring farm and landscape.
