This characteristic country house breathes history. Over the years, a number of typical 1970s modifications have covered characteristic elements, and since then, nothing in the house has changed. It presented a wonderful challenge to incorporate modernization and sustainability while simultaneously restoring the traditional architecture of this 110-year-old home.
The starting point for the design was the symmetry and proportions of the country house. The sense of spaciousness was emphasized by highlighting sightlines, connecting spaces both horizontally and vertically. Crucial to this project was early involvement in the construction, ensuring that the framework for where custom work will later be installed was already conceived, drawn up, and discussed with the construction team.
